HipHop Double Page Spread Analysis

I have taken a variety of double page spreads out of different hip hop magazines and analysed them to find the codes and conventions for double page spreads and gain inspiration for mine

I like the colour scheme for this spread. The yellow and black work nicely with the pictures displayed and I like how the words are written around the photos, making the faces the focus. The use of the large, bold quote on the first page is definitely something that I would think about including in my spread, as I think it draws the reader's attention straight away, and also hints to what the article will include. The photo on the right  page matches the quote on the side,"Potheads and hippies" with the model clearly smoking, fitting in with the edgy vibe that the magazine goes for.
This spread of mars is layered similarly to how I want mine to look, with bold headings and an introduction to the article at the beginning. I hadn't thought about having my model take up a whole page, almost like a poster, but this is now something I am considering. The dark colours from the photo are replicated in the title and headers.

Again, the colour scheme of this double page spread is bright and eye catchy, the red, black and white work together nicely to make certain parts of the page emphasised. I like how Ora is in the background, underneath the article and title (her name), however I think I would like my model to be a bit more centre of attention, more focal as opposed to her name.

This article is very aesthetically pleasing, as the sparse use of red words make the words "It's just the beginning..." and the quote bottom left stand out so much against the black and white photo. I also like how the artists hands go over onto the next page,so he is covering one full page and then some. I think this is something I will replicate as I want my model to remain the focus point for the reader.
