Contents Mock Up & First Drafts

I wanted to experiment with contents layouts. Using a photo of Kehlani again, using the same artist as used on the cover as That is most likely what I will be using for my contents.
I want to have my model in the centre of the page, with the featured articles and pages on the side of her, maybe with an "exclusive" or a puff on the inside, featuring a gift or something.

This was my first draft of my contents page. I like the features on the side as they bring colour and I made up the headlines based on the photos I took. I liked the jellyfish style as it looked funky and different, I don't think this style has ever been done before, but this was while I was still experimenting with contents so this was likely going to change.

I added smoke to the background instead of the jellyfish, and introduced a "Features" bar to title what would be included in my final contents. I looked at my research and found that most magazines will include a box/ statement that includes the magazine's social media sites and accounts, so I added that in the bottom left corner, along with a website. I also added another picture feature, using a photo of Big Sean which I layered onto a metal background myself using Photoshop tools I have picked up.
This is the last draft I made before my final contents was finished. I included an editor's note and a photo taken by me and added a yellow arrow to change up the layout slightly. I added a date as I spotted most magazines include the date the magazine is released on the contents page and/or the front cover (I chose to include it on both)
