I photographed my friend Phoenix in medium close up, added the Chatham and Clarendon school logo on Photoshop, alongside catchy cover lines to appeal to the consumer.
This task has helped me with my portfolio because it's made me think about how I want my magazine cover to be designed, and what sort of layout I would like. I have now thought more about the way the sentences are presented, as the words on the front cover can make a huge difference.
I also realized that the words "School News" do not stand out enough against Phoenix's jumper, so I will make sure for my real production that I consider colours and placement to make sure my masthead is eye catching and noticeable.
Also using my research into magazine covers I have realized that cover lines rarely cover the main focus, and I haven't included enough colourful / eye catching puffs/ cover lines.
